GHSA-6757-jp84-gxfx · Severity: critical · Ecosystem: pip — Improper Input Validation in PyYAML
A vulnerability was discovered in the PyYAML library in versions before 5.3.1, where it is susceptible to arbitrary code execution when it processes untrusted YAML files through the full_load method or with the FullLoader loader. Applications that use the library to process untrusted input may be vulnerable to this flaw. An attacker could use this flaw to execute arbitrary code on the system by abusing the python/object/new constructor.
Conclusion & alert: CVE-2020-1747 is rated High Risk (74.7/100): CVSS Critical severity, with high exploitation likelihood (EPSS 5.30%, 92th percentile). Core evidence: EPSS ranks this CVE among the most likely to be exploited in the near term. EPSS rose +3.45% over the last day, indicating growing attacker interest. Mandatory action: High exploitation likelihood—assess exposure and prioritize remediation.
Risk is dynamic; we continuously reassess and refresh what is shown on this page as upstream context changes.
