GHSA-v39p-96qg-c8rf · Severity: medium · Ecosystem: npm — Prototype Pollution in object-path
This affects the package object-path before 0.11.6. A type confusion vulnerability can lead to a bypass of CVE-2020-15256 when the path components used in the path parameter are arrays. In particular, the condition currentPath === '__proto__' returns false if currentPath is ['__proto__']. This is because the === operator returns always false when the type of the operands is different.
Conclusion & alert: CVE-2021-23434 is rated High Exploit Risk (64.4/100): CVSS Medium severity, with medium exploitation likelihood (EPSS 1.90%). Core evidence: 2 public exploit reference(s) are indexed (Exploit-DB). Mandatory action: Public exploits are available—assess exposure, apply mitigations, and prioritize patching.
Risk is dynamic; we continuously reassess and refresh what is shown on this page as upstream context changes.
