CVE-2022-31671 | Harbor fails to validate the user permissions when reading and updating job execution logs through the P2P preheat execution logs

Harbor fails to validate user permissions when reading and updating job execution logs through the P2P preheat execution logs. By sending a request that attempts to read/update P2P preheat execution logs and specifying different job IDs, malicious authenticated users could read all the job logs stored in the Harbor database.

Common vulnerability scoring system (CVSS) metrics for CVE-2022-31671

CVSS metrics for this CVE.

Base score Version Severity Vector Exploitability Impact Score source
7.4 3.1 HIGH
CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L Click to expand
Attack vector (AV:N)
Could be attacked over the internet or any normal routed network—not just someone sitting at the machine.
Attack complexity (AC:L)
Once they can reach the bug, pulling it off is straightforward—no weird race conditions or rare setup.
Privileges required (PR:L)
A normal user session is enough; they don’t have to be admin.
User interaction (UI:N)
Nobody has to click “OK” or open a trap file; it can work without a victim helping.
Scope (S:C)
Breaking this can reach past the original component and bite other resources—bigger blast radius.
Confidentiality (C:L)
Some sensitive info could get out, but not a total data dump.
Integrity (I:L)
Attackers could change some data, but it’s limited—not everything goes.
Availability (A:L)
Might cause slowdowns, glitches, or partial disruption—not a full brick.
