CVE-2026-4339 | SSRF via unvalidated attachment URLs in Mattermost Agents plugin MCP server

Mattermost versions 10.11.x <= 10.11.18, 11.6.x <= 11.6.3, 11.5.x <= 11.5.6 fail to validate attachment URLs against internal or private IP ranges in the Mattermost Agents plugin MCP server which allows an attacker with access to the MCP server in stdio mode to perform server-side request forgery (SSRF) and exfiltrate data from internal network services via supplying internal URLs as file attachments in post creation requests.. 6.5 3.1 MEDIUM
CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N Click to expand
Attack vector (AV:L)
They already need access on the box, or another person has to do something wrong; it’s not a remote drive-by.
Attack complexity (AC:L)
Once they can reach the bug, pulling it off is straightforward—no weird race conditions or rare setup.
Privileges required (PR:L)
A normal user session is enough; they don’t have to be admin.
User interaction (UI:N)
Nobody has to click “OK” or open a trap file; it can work without a victim helping.
Scope (S:C)
Breaking this can reach past the original component and bite other resources—bigger blast radius.
Confidentiality (C:H)
Serious risk that confidential data gets exposed in a big way.
Integrity (I:N)
Data isn’t meaningfully altered or forged.
Availability (A:N)
Service keeps running; no real outage angle.
