GHSA-m6qj-3mpp-57v8 · Severity: medium · Ecosystem: maven — Keycloak: Insufficient verification proof scoping enables identity provider account linking attack and account compromise
A flaw was found in Keycloak. The cross-session verification proof is keyed only by (local userId, idpAlias) and is not bound to the upstream identity that was actually verified, so a second upstream account on the same IdP can consume it and get linked to the victim's local account.
Conclusion & alert: CVE-2026-9087 is rated Low Risk (28.4/100): CVSS Medium severity, with low exploitation likelihood (EPSS 0.03%). Mandatory action: Monitor for updates and reassess as exploit intelligence or EPSS changes.
Risk is dynamic; we continuously reassess and refresh what is shown on this page as upstream context changes.
EPSS lead: Daily EPSS estimates relative likelihood of exploitation; percentile ranks this CVE among scored vulnerabilities (higher = more severe relative rank).
