Tracker summary

CVE-2017-17862 medium priority: Ubuntu including 79 source packages (linux, linux-aws, …), 654 status rows across 11 suites (artful, bionic, cosmic, focal, jammy, noble, oracular, trusty, upstream, xenial, zesty): DNE 425, not-affected 122, released 95, ignored 12.

Description:

kernel/bpf/verifier.c in the Linux kernel through 4.14.8 ignores unreachable code, even though it would still be processed by JIT compilers. This behavior, also considered an improper branch-pruning logic issue, could possibly be used by local users for denial of service.
